Art Russia fair booth will feature “300 Plus One,” a project by contemporary artist and designer Vasily Akulov. Conceived as an installation, it brings together two interconnected elements: an “archive” of 300 art objects — small framed tiles (14×14 cm) with miniature depictions of animals and plants from the Red Data Book of Russia — and a central painting, “Przewalski’s Red Horse” (120×120 cm), rendered in an intense red.
The booth’s core motif is a careful, attentive gaze toward the living world and its beauty: each art object acts as a small “portal” into Russia’s nature, turning rare species into a personal, tactile story that visitors can take with them. The series is structured as a journey‑like collection: moving from tile to tile, viewers assemble their own map of impressions, while the central canvas sets the emotional tone — energy, strength, and a vivid focal point around which the whole composition comes together.
